Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to be certified as a diverse business to do business with PayPal and be recognized as one?
While you do not need to be a certified diverse business to work with PayPal, certification is required to be recognized as a Minority-Owned Business Enterprise (MBE). Certification provides our diverse suppliers with strategic advantages such as alignment with our corporate commitment to diversity and access to advocacy. Also, certification provides PayPal with the assurance that our vendor pool consists of only bona fide diverse businesses.
In the certification section, we have identified the 3rd-Party Certification Agencies with whom we work and have approved their certification standards. Outside of the Supplier Diversity Program, any qualified supplier can do business with PayPal as long as it meets our established standards.
For five consecutive years, we’ve achieved 100% global gender pay equity and U.S. ethnic pay equity, and we remain committed to advancing equity at every level.
Where is your purchasing function located?
PayPal’s purchasing function includes representatives in our finance and risk management departments in direct coordination with vendor managers situated across our global business. Our Supplier Diversity team can provide you with additional information on how you can become a PayPal vendor.
