Learning & Development

We've reimagined our approach to learning and development by focusing on opportunities that enable business impact, team performance, and individual growth, and are accessible to all functions, teams, and individuals. Specifically, in 2021, we launched new initiatives to enable employees to participate in self-paced and community learning via platforms such as LinkedIn Learning, O'Reilly, and Udemy for Business, where employees can easily access relevant learning content based on their personal and professional needs.

We're committed to employee wellness.

We're committed to employees' Total Wellness, championing a flexible, balanced work culture, and comprehensive leave and benefits, including parental preparedness, Global Wellness Days for employees to recharge and re-energize as they see fit, and a paid sabbatical for every five years of service. In 2019, we launched our Employee Financial Wellness initiative to strengthen the financial security of our global employees, providing every employee an ownership stake in the company and offering benefits such as no-fee financial education and coaching.

We also offer free online wellness coaching and support employees' mental and emotional health through our Employee Assistance Program.

Empowering Employee Giving

We believe we have an important role to play in contributing to strong, inclusive communities in the places where we live and work. Our employees share this vision and are committed to civic action.

Our PayPal Community Impact program mobilizes our employees to further PayPal's vision of powering an inclusive global economy and advance our collective social impact. The program enables employees to foster stronger relationships with local communities through volunteering, grantmaking, and other activities. We incentivize employees to give back to their communities by matching their nonprofit donations up to $2,500 and offering eight hours of paid volunteer time annually.

Following a record year of volunteerism and giving in 2020, PayPal employees once again demonstrated their generosity and desire to support their communities by volunteering over 80,000 hours and donating nearly $5 million (including matching) in 2021.

Workplace Recognition

We've had much to celebrate as we were recognized with several notable awards that highlight our efforts to build a more inclusive workplace and world. Recent accolades include:
